Emmanuel Macron expressed his “stronger disapproval” and demanded “truth” And “justice”, after the death announced by Hamas of more than 110 people during an aid distribution in Gaza the day before. He again called for a “ceasefire” in order to “allow humanitarian aid to be distributed“. “In Gaza, the situation is dramatic. All civilian populations must be protected”he wrote on X. A few hours later, Foreign Minister Stéphane Séjourné announced on France Inter that Paris was going to request “an independent investigation”.

Hundreds of Palestinians rushed onto trucks that were supposed to deliver humanitarian aid to civilians in Gaza on Thursday. According to local residents, the situation degenerated and the Israeli army fired on the crowd. If the circumstances of this killing must be clarified, the Israeli army admitted to having opened fire. A situation which has raised indignation and calls to establish responsibilities within the international community.
