Emmanuel Macron and Elisabeth Borne saw each other Monday evening at the Elysée

The President of the Republic and the Prime Minister met on the evening of Monday March 20 at the Elysée. The meeting lasted an hour. Emmanuel Macron and Elisabeth Borne spoke a few hours after the rejection by the deputies of the two motions of censure in the National Assembly, including that “transpartisan” of the Liot group. This motion garnered 278 votes in favour. It took 287 to overthrow the government of Elisabeth Borne.

Emmanuel Macron will receive all the parliamentarians of the majority Tuesday evening at 7:30 p.m., announces the Elysée to franceinfo. In the morning, at 9 a.m., the Head of State will first receive the Prime Minister, in the company of the leaders of the majority groups in the Assembly, as well as important ministers such as Bruno Le Maire, Gabriel Attal, Olivier Dussopt, Olivier Véran and the President of the National Assembly Yaël Braun-Pivet.

A lunch with the main ministers

“Despite all the efforts made by the oppositions, there is no alternative majority”, reacted the entourage of the Prime Minister to franceinfo on Monday evening. Elisabeth Borne therefore narrowly avoided censorship.

The Prime Minister will also be on Tuesday morning before the parliamentarians of the majority, meeting in an intergroup at the National Assembly, before having lunch with the main ministers of the government. Finally, the joint majority executive board, made up of Renaissance, Horizons and Modem, will meet on Tuesday afternoon.
