Some will speak of a small miracle, a formula which deserves to be corrected given the talent and composure of the 82-year-old driver. He had to deal with the failure of two engines of his aircraft and tried to land in a district of Villejuif (Val-de-Marne).

The image will go down in the annals of passenger plane accidents. A twin-engine aircraft flew over Villejuif (Val-de-Marne) before making an emergency landing, ending up against the wall of a garage in the courtyard of a residential building. From the dislocated plane emerged, unharmed, the instructor and the two students, injured but alive, a miracle.

The pilot’s name is Jean-Pierre Trimaille, he is 82 years old and has 40,000 flight hours under his belt. “We have the right engine which started to lose power, the trainee thought it was me who had had a breakdown, since I spend my time causing breakdowns in planes. And the second engine started losing power too”he said.

A “pride” of having saved lives

I spotted this platform and we headed towards it. As luck would have it, the right wing touched an element of the building and turned the plane which came to rest against a low wall and which absorbed all the kinetic energy which would have fatally killed us if we had taken the wall. face”, added the pilot. It’s a “pride” for him for saving lives. Crash management could enrich future training for young pilots.
