Emergency calls from the gendarmerie were disrupted for a few hours in Haute-Vienne

Emergency calls from the Haute-Vienne gendarmerie were disrupted for several hours on Wednesday evening and Thursday morning. Near the Victor Thuillat district in Limoges, the operational center of the gendarmerie, which receives 17 calls from rural areas of the department, has been disconnected from the telephone network.

An Orange telephone cable was accidentally cut Wednesday at the end of the afternoon, around 5 p.m., by a company which intervened this equipment, damaged at the beginning of the week by water infiltration.

The 17 of Haute-Vienne rang in Corrèze

To compensate for this cut, 17 calls were transferred to the Corrèze gendarmerie which redirected the calls to the Upper Viennese officers in the event of a real emergency.

In total, a hundred other customers were impacted. The situation returned to normal Thursday at midday.
