Elon Musk limits the number of posts that can be seen daily on Twitter

While several Twitter users found themselves in front of a message indicating a “rate limit exceeded”, Saturday morning, preventing new publications from being displayed, its CEO, Elon Musk explained this new measure in a tweet.

The billionaire indicates that “to remedy extreme levels of data analysis (data scraping) and system manipulations”, the number of publications that can be seen per day will be “temporarily” limited.

Accounts that are subscribed to the Twitter Blue service and who are verified will therefore only be able to see 6,000 posts per day, while those who are not will see their rate limited to only 600 per day.

New accounts that will be created from Saturday will be limited to 300 tweets seen per day.

Less than two hours after the initial announcement, Elon Musk clarified that the limit would “soon” increase to 8000 for verified accounts, 800 for others and 400 for new users.

The CEO did not give more information about an end date for this so-called temporary measure or more details about what prompted him to adopt it.
