She embodied the competition for 30 years. Throughout these years, she never took off her famous hat which shaped her image. On December 16, 2023, the whole of France and TF1 will pay tribute to her at the Zénith de Dijon as part of the 94th edition of Miss France. “She” is none other than Geneviève de Fontenaythe “Lady with the Hat” who left us on August 1, 2023. For the occasion, the first channel and the Committee brought together a jury composed entirely of women and chaired by the former boss of the Miss France Committee, Sylvie Tellier
. A presence that would have forced a former beauty queen not to attend the evening: Elodie Gossuin

And yet, the one who was elected Miss France 2001 was undoubtedly the Miss closest to Geneviève de Fontenay
in his lifetime. Hubert Guérin, ex-collaborator of the latter, assured this to Ciné Télé Revue
. And this one assures it, if Elodie Gossuin is not going to attend the evening, it would indeed be because of the role entrusted to Sylvie Tellier
for this tribute evening.

Hubert Guérin, not tender with Sylvie Tellier
“She doesn’t consider it normal, it’s one of the reasons for her absence”, he explains to our colleagues. He believes thatElodie Gossuin deserved this role especially since she was “Geneviève de Fontenay’s favorite Miss France”. “She would have been completely legitimate, she is very popular, embodies the competition, much more than Sylvie Tellier who has teeth that have pierced the parquet floor on three floors. Elodie Gossuin is a simple woman, she is the last one who visited, to tell you the proximity”continues the ex-collaborator of the “Lady with the Hat”.
Regarding this role ultimately attributed to Sylvie TellierHubert Guérin believes that it is a “knife stuck in the back of Geneviève de Fontenay”. “She must be eating her hat and the pumps that go with it.”, he blurted. According to him, without Miss France, “Sylvie Tellier is nothing”. It is therefore not a question of “the right Miss to choose as president of a ceremony which will pay tribute to Geneviève de Fontenay” for him.
