Elizabeth II, family above all: her great-grandchildren with her until the end

It is a long period of mourning that the British people began this Thursday, September 8 at the official announcement of the death of Elizabeth II. The queen passed away peacefully at the age of 96, in her Balmoral castle, surrounded by her children. If there is one thing to remember despite the sadness and the historic event that the world is experiencing, it is that the Sovereign has fulfilled her role as monarch until the end as she had promised but especially those of grandmother and great-grandmother that life had given her.

On his Instagram account, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, husband of his granddaughter Beatrice of York, daughter of Prince Andrew, paid tribute to Elizabeth II in a poignant post: “Very difficult to digest the past 24 hourshe begins. She left an incredible and extraordinary mark on the whole world. She was the pillar on which modern Britain was built.“After solemn words, the businessman addressed a more personal aspect, that of the family and the relationship that everyone had with it:”We are extremely lucky that our children were able to spend wonderful moments with her during the summer. Rest in peace Your Majesty. We will miss you terribly.
