Limoges CSP seems to be in trouble at the start of 2022 with a new defeat this Saturday on the Gravelines-Dunkerque floor. After their 30-point defeat in Strasbourg, it’s a new setback for Cancellieri’s players.

If Limoges CSP was only 1 small point behind their opponent at halftime (36 to 35) the Limoges had already lost 11 balls. We expected them to be aggressive. I don’t understand why we didn’t play the same way. We didn’t do anything offensively. We weren’t able to make a pass. And when we made a few passes, we chained air balls and ball losses. You can’t show a face like that. For me it’s very simple, in attack, we played like shit. We will work very hard during the week. I promise you. At the end, we thought we could finish the job by dribbling. What is that ? We have to play together. We need all 5 players, not just one player at a time. This is mine, then it’s yours. We have bad percentages because we took bad shots. Some weren’t ready or rather, no one was ready“.
Hugo Invernizzi, interior of the Limoges CSP :”In Strasbourg we did not exist too much. We were still tied at halftime. Defensively, we were good. It is in attack where we were not on our habits of play, passing game, intensity. When you have no skill and you lose balls, you often get frustrated and you think you can make a difference on your own in dribbling. They were aggressive but we wanted to continue to dribble and on this kind of defense, it’s complicated. We lost a lot of balls. 21 lost balls, you can’t win away.”
Top player: Nicolas Lang, the only one to jump
Captain Nicolas Lang finished with 17 points and 14 rating. He was however targeted by the opposing defense which also limited the contribution of the Limougeaud captain in the second half. Despite this, he generally responded present.
The Day Without: Tim Crusol Wasn’t There
He spent the evening being yelled at by the coach to the point of spending most of his time on the bench. With only one assist for 5 lost balls and no points, Tim Crusol finished the match at -5 in 12 minutes.
