Elite J13: the leader of Fos Edouard Choquet “with ambition but without pressure” against Limoges

For the first time this season, Limoges CSP can switch to the positive with more wins than defeats since the start of the season. For this, the Limougeauds must beat Fos-sur-Mer this Thursday in Beaublanc on behalf of the 13th day of the French Elite basketball championship. A team led by the native of Limoges Edouard Choquet who would like to play the role of spoiler on the Beaublanc floor. Interview.

With a record of 5 wins for 7 losses, can we say that this first part of the season is going well for Fos-sur-Mer?

Yes, we are in the nails of what we want to know the maintenance. This is our goal. We started very badly because we had a rather catastrophic first match against Chalons-Reims. But it is true that since then, we have won against all our direct competitors. Paris, Le Portel, Orléans and last weekend in Cholet. Plus a bonus victory since we won in Nanterre. So compared to) our chart of maintenance, we are rather on a good dynamic. It’s pretty positive. We are relatively satisfied to be able to arrive at Limoges with this little safety valve, especially for the teams which are currently relegated.

We always have this spoilsport costume that can be fun to wear

Limoges CSP have just won in Monaco. The Limougeauds will be very upbeat, especially for their last match of the year in front of their home crowd. How do you feel about this match?

It’s always a little surprise when a team will win in Monaco. I think the victory in Monaco will give them a good boost. It will be a difficult match but afterwards, we just won at Cholet. We know that it is our championship to beat teams like that which are at the bottom of the standings, in the last 5 or 6 places. This match in Limoges, we will take it with ambition but without really pressure since we know that in our table of progress, these are not matches that are absolutely necessary to take. But we still have this spoilsport costume that can be fun to wear. If we can go to Limoges and scare them a little, it would be a pleasure.

We say “wow” it must not be easy every day for the players

What do you think of the work done by the new Limoges coach Massimo Cancellieri?

I really have the impression that there is something forming around this coach. From the outside, it’s always complicated to know what’s going on internally but I imagine that if the team has results despite maybe a little less budget and maybe a little less staff. snoring that other years, I tend to tell myself that there is necessarily a link with the identity that the coach is trying to instill. I have the impression that it also seems to be a character. When we sometimes see videos from the outside, we say to ourselves “wow” it must not be easy every day for the players. But afterwards, they have results. They have a really defensive identity. I have the impression that there is something forming around this. After that, we have to see what it will give over time. But overall, compared to what was seen at the start of the season, Limoges is relatively successful.
