This Thursday, January 6, 2022, Élise Lucet is back on the air for a new issue ofExclusive inquiry on France 2. A program for which she does not hesitate to unravel everyone’s secrets. But when it comes to her own life, the renowned 58-year-old investigative journalist wants to be much more low-key. However, we do know that she had a baby girl named Rose who was born in 2007, only a year after she married. Martin Bourgeois, an antique dealer who was five years younger than she fell in love with.
Unfortunately, the honeymoon was too short because in March 2011, Martin Bourgeois was died at only 43. He fought in privacy against leukemia and succumbed to this disease, leaving his grieving wife and their child, 4 years old at the time.
Despite the pain, Élise Lucet has always kept her professionalism, even hiding her pain. For example, she had kept the controls of the news of 13H of France 2 which she presented for eleven years until 2016. After this tragedy, she had all the same split a personal message on the air, to to the viewers who have been very supportive during this difficult time. “I really wanted to personally thank all of you who sent me a message of support. It was heartwarming. I had the feeling of having a very, very big family all of a sudden“she said.
There is a personal construction
Her confidences on the disappearance of her husband are rare. “When you’ve been through this kind of thing, you’re not afraid of much. After that, there is a personal construction. I feel great freedom again. Maybe it’s maturity, maybe I’m starting to look like myself and not afraid to show who I ams“, she explained for Gala in 2015.
A thought that she then specified in the pages of World in 2018: “Such a loss, there are those who have lived it and those who have not. We recognize each other. On the one hand, it takes away a carelessness, but it recreates another. You understand better what fills you, what interests you. I don’t want to bark, I know it can end tomorrow.“
