Classic rock and pop from the 60s to 90s will be featured on Elisapie’s next album. For this fourth solo opus, the singer has translated and performed in Inuktitut, her mother tongue, ten pieces that left their mark.
Launched on Wednesday, the first extract, Taimangalimaaqis a cover of Time After Timeby Cyndi Lauper, a song linked to many memories shared with her cousin Susie.
“Cyndi Lauper was our model of a free and strong woman. The artist and the song have helped us overcome many hardships, ”says Elisapie, in a press release.
Each track on the album Inuktitutwhich will be published on September 15, is also “addressed to a loved one or linked to an intimate story that has shaped the person she is today”, continues the press release.
Following the release of the album, Elisapie will be touring across Quebec in 2024.
