Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne will deliver her general policy speech to the National Assembly next Wednesday, franceinfo learned Thursday, June 30 from parliamentary sources, confirming information from RTL.
During her general policy statement, scheduled for 3 p.m. according to Matignon, Elisabeth Borne will therefore have to present to the deputies the main orientations of her government program, the main reforms and measures that she wishes to put in place. His speech will then be read in the Senate at 9 p.m. by the number 2 of the government, currently Bruno Le Maire.
This exercise is not an obligation but a republican tradition of the Fifth Republic which usually allows the Prime Minister to then seek the confidence of the National Assembly which confirms or not in his functions at the end of his speech.
On this point, Elisabeth Borne has said several times that she did not decide this question with a vote of confidence. This Thursday, Matignon tells franceinfo that “all options” are still on the table.
