Support for purchasing power, pension reform, ecological planning. What will be the Elisabeth Borne method to apply Emmanuel Macron’s program?

This is her first outing as Prime Minister, with the deputies of the Republic on the move. Elisabeth Borne knows that she will need them, and the largest possible majority to advance her three priority projects. First, purchasing power. A law will be proposed within a month to be voted on by the new elected National Assembly, with aid measures, including the food check for the most modest. Another sensitive issue: pensions.

Emmanuel Macron intends to push back the legal age of departure to 64 or even 65 years old. Elisabeth Borne has experience of difficult negotiations since her functions as Minister of Transport and then of Labour. Finally, the other burning issue of the new Prime Minister is ecology. Elisabeth Borne supported the climate law and imposed the plane surcharge. So many measures to put to his credit for environmental associations, if indeed it has a free hand. Because it is unprecedented: the Prime Minister will be directly responsible for ecological planning and two ministers at her side to fulfill the presidential objectives.
