Of the “recommendations” but no “compulsory character”. Faced with the resurgence of Covid-19 cases, Elisabeth Borne asked, Tuesday June 28, to encourage the wearing of the mask “in crowded places” and “enclosed spaces”, especially “public transport”. The Prime Minister, who brought together prefects of departments and directors of regional health agencies by videoconference, took up several of the recommendations made on Monday by the Minister of Health Brigitte Bourguignon.
This recommendation comes as the incidence rate of the epidemic “has doubled in one week on almost all of the metropolitan territory and in all age groups of the population”, emphasizes Matignon. On Tuesday, Public Health France reported a very strong rebound in new cases of contamination, to 147,248, or 54% more than a week ago.
The Prime Minister also asked that each “check his vaccination schedule”especially French people over 60 and the most vulnerable who “must benefit from the second booster dose”, that is, their fourth injection. They should also receive “in the coming days awareness emails” from health insurance, says Matignon.
At the same time, the executive is working on a new bill, due to be presented and considered in July, aimed at maintaining “a monitoring and health security system” until March 2023.
