The Social Conference on low wages opened on Monday October 16. The Prime Minister called for negotiations between employers and unions, while the latter want binding measures.

Elisabeth Borne wants to encourage companies to increase wages. Monday October 16, for the opening of the Social Conference, the Prime Minister showed her will. “No one aspires to spend their entire career at the same pay level. Everyone must have prospects, both career and salary“, she affirmed. Activity bonuses and the question of salary stagnation are at the center of these reflections, while around sixty professional branches still have a minimum below the minimum wage.

Matignon wants employers and unions to discuss

Matignon calls on employers and unions to negotiate better. “It is the negotiation which will lead to the revision of the classification grids, it is the negotiation which will change the minimum salaries of the branches which are still below the minimum wage, and it is together that we will be able to progress on the question of times partial losses and short contracts“, added Elisabeth Borne. The unions are asking to go beyond incentives and to sanction companies that do not respect their commitments.
