Elisabeth Borne assures that she will “listen” to all “the sensitivities” of the majority

The Prime Minister reaffirmed to MoDem parliamentarians the government’s attachment to the immigration bill, while the executive is trying to find a majority on this text.

Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne called on Tuesday, September 12, MoDem deputies and senators to “unity”, as part of their parliamentary days in La Roche-Posay (Vienna), learned about franceinfo from Matignon. The regularization of undocumented workers in professions “in tension” is one of the most sensitive measures of the bill which has been postponed many times but which the Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin announces will be examined in the Senate from 6 November and to the Assembly in early 2024. “We must find an effective and balanced path”reaffirmed the Prime Minister, indicating that she had “all confidence” in Gérald Darmanin for “find a majority in the National Assembly and the Senate”.

Elisabeth Borne will receive all the political groups at the end of the week to discuss, among other things, this subject of immigration. The head of government also plans to treat the components of her majority and will go to Louan-Villegruis-Fontaine (Seine-et-Marne) on Wednesday for the Renaissance parliamentary days, before closing the debates of those of Horizons on Friday at Angers.
