Freshly appointed to Matignon on Monday May 16, 2022, Élisabeth Borne has had a special career and has been able to impose herself wherever she has gone. The new Prime Minister has already been a minister three times before.

It had been expected for several days, Emmanuel Macron appointed a woman as Prime Minister, thirty years after Edith Cresson. ELisabeth Borne, former Minister of Labour, Transport and Ecology will now occupy Matignon. Coming from the left, but never a member of the Socialist Party, the former prefect, unknown five years ago when she was appointed to Transport, has established herself during the five-year term.

After graduating from polytechnic, she began her career in various ministerial offices. She then became prefect before heading the RATP. She notably led the reform of the SNCF as Minister of Transport before being appointed Minister of Ecological Transition. She then distinguished herself as Minister of Labour.
