Eleven children were taken illheadaches or vomiting this Thursday during the lunch break at the Pin school (Haute-Saône). These pupils aged 10-11 were playing outside after having taken their meal in the canteen, when the symptoms appeared. Asked by France Bleu Besançon, Mayor Patrick Combeau, who went there, talks aboutsunstroke, and explains that it was 35°C at the time. For its part, the prefecture of Haute-Saône specifies that “the symptoms appeared after the meal” and supposes a link with a food poisoning.
No hospitalization
Firefighters rushed to the scene to examine the children. All were treated and rehydrated on the spot. None were taken to hospital.
The Haute-Saône was placed this Friday in orange vigilane for the heat wave, like 55 other departments, because of the extreme heat wave that affects the country.
