The latest from Pixar studios, “Elementary”, tells the story of an impossible love between Flack and Flam, a sort of Romeo and Juliet in an animated film version. The dubbing of the two heroes is performed by Vincent Lacoste and Adèle Exarchopoulos.

An imaginary city, populated by characters inspired by the four elements. The four communities live in perfect harmony, or almost. The French voices of the characters loved the idea. “The premise of the film is really funny, a love story between a puddle and a flame… It’s Romeo and Juliet. It’s an impossible love story. They can’t touch each other, they can’t do anything , and yet they will succeed in loving each other”comments Vincent Lacoste, actor.

A “double language” appreciated by Adèle Exarchopoulos

Beyond the romantic comedy, “Elementary” is also a political fable about immigration and tolerance. How to live together, when it seems impossible? The subject is hot. An adult message in a film for young audiences is Pixar’s recipe. “What I find relevant at Pixar is this immediate double talk, which makes no one feel uncomfortable because it’s so subtle”confides Adèle Exarchopoulos, actress.
