Gracias Mustachethe new album from Deluxe, is just as festive as the previous ones with its hip-hop, soul, funk and jazz tones, but with an unusual hint of seriousness.
Deluxe is above all a story of friendship. The group formed in 2007 with six musician friends from Aix-en-Provence. To make themselves known, they play in the street and then in the bars and restaurants of the city. In 2010, they meet a singer who will become their explosive Liliboy. It was three years later that they released their first album which propelled them to prestigious stages such as the Francofolies de Montréal, the Printemps de Bourges, Solidays, the Montreux Jazz Festival and the Olympia.
The group from Aix then gained notoriety and surrounded itself with Akhenaton, Shurik’n from the group IAM and Matthieu Chedid for the production of its second album. Wherever Deluxe goes, it’s madness. The group with its hip-hop and groove accents rocks all the stages. The costumes are sparkling, colorful, quirky and the mustache is their trademark.
Almost nothing has changed today. The five boys still wear mustaches, the group has just matured a bit. “We evolve but together”, reports Pietre, the guitarist. As with each album release, the group is a little anxious. “It’s always the pressure because it’s two years of work. We believe in each title. We love people’s feedback when a song or a clip comes out. In fact, we play our life every time” says Vianney Elineau alias “Kilo”, the drummer and percussionist.
For this new album, the group has allowed itself a few deviations. Less festive titles, several pieces are also in French.
New Deluxe album “Moustache Gracias” (Polydor) released on March 18, 2022 – New releases to discover live, during their tour.
