Electric vehicles: Quebec company Exprolink acquires Excelway

Quebec-based company Exprolink has acquired the Spanish Excelway line of multifunction vehicles, an initiative that will create more than 100 direct jobs in the province.

“We are very pleased to be able to conclude today this strategic acquisition which allows us to offer a complete range of vocational electric vehicles to our customers, in addition to opening the doors to Europe, where the demand for this type of vehicle is also in strong growth, in the context of the fight against climate change ”, indicated Monday by way of press release Jean Bourgeois, president of Exprolink.

As part of a three-year investment plan of $ 30 million, this acquisition will allow the company to open an assembly center in Longueuil in the United States.

Exprolink should also announce in the coming months the choice of the site of its future plant in Quebec, the electric vehicle company wishing to relocate its production by the end of 2023.

“Exprolink is a very good example of Quebec know-how in innovation and transportation electrification. By developing vocational electric vehicles (EVVs), the company is meeting a need of cities, institutions and businesses, ”said Sarah Houde, President and CEO of Propulsion Québec.

The Quebec company hopes to multiply its turnover by five by 2026 to reach $ 80 million.

Three sales offices have also been opened in the United States, while the production capacity of the Longueuil production plant has doubled thanks to recent investments.
