Elections Quebec 2022 | The Liberals will have their candidate in Matane-Matapédia

The Superior Court ruled on Wednesday: the Liberal Party of Quebec will finally be able to present its candidate in Matane-Matapédia, which had initially been refused by the Chief Electoral Officer of Quebec, last Saturday.

The court overturned Harley Lounsbury’s decision “to declare the declaration of candidacy non-compliant”. The latter had omitted to affix a signature and initials to the form submitted by the deadline.

The Liberals will therefore have their 125 candidates in the running for October 3. On Twitter, chef Dominique Anglade rejoiced. “It’s a great victory for democracy,” she tweeted.
