Elections Quebec 2022 | François Legault promises to fight against the erosion of the banks

The Coalition avenir Québec (CAQ) promises to invest $100 million to fight against shoreline erosion.

The chief caquist, François Legault, made the announcement during a visit to the Magdalen Islands after the passage of the storm Fiona.

If re-elected, the CAQ also wants to create a project office that would be responsible for the issue of bank erosion.

Nearly one billion dollars have already been reserved in various ministries for adaptation to climate change, including 70.1 million to map areas at risk of erosion and implement adaptation solutions, the political party indicated.

Mr. Legault had already planned to go to the Magdalen Islands before they were swept away by Fiona during the weekend.

Friday evening, the CAQ leader had temporarily suspended his electoral tour pending the storm. He resumed his activities on Saturday.

More details will follow.
