Election night: more than a million viewers

On average, over a million people listened to the show Quebec 2022: the results on the TVA and LCN network on Monday evening to follow the election night which resulted in a strong majority for the Coalition avenir Québec (CAQ).

The evening hosted by Pierre Bruneau garnered ratings of 695,000 viewers on TVA and 348,000 viewers on LCN for a total of 1,042,000.

With the rapid announcement of a majority government formed by the CAQ, the ratings remained strong, but they remain below those recorded in 2018, the year in which Groupe TVA smashed a record of 1.4 million viewers.

While on his last show, Pierre Bruneau was surrounded by his usual collaborators – Mario Dumont, Paul Larocque, Emmanuelle Latraverse, Jean-Marc Léger and Pierre-Olivier Zappa on the giant touch screen – for this evening which s ended at midnight.

At 8:08 p.m., less than 10 minutes after the polls closed, TVA Nouvelles predicted a CAQ majority government. The announcement of the formation of the official opposition by the Quebec Liberal Party (PLQ) followed quickly at 8:44 p.m.

Early in the evening, around 8:30 p.m., LCN had a peak of 464,000 viewers. On the side of TVA, we observed a peak of 909,000 viewers around 9:30 p.m., around the same time as the defeat of the Conservative leader, Éric Duhaime, in Chauveau was announced.
