Elected officials await compensation for the abandonment of the 3rd motorway link

The Minister of International Relations and MP for Chutes-de-la-Chaudière, Martine Biron, is waiting for a return of favor to compensate for the abandonment of the highway portion of the third link project.

“I think that’s what we usually do when we don’t keep our promises, we tell people, ‘I’ll give it back to you, I owe you one.’ I think the elevator must go up, ”she said on her arrival at the National Assembly on Tuesday.

In the morning, Premier François Legault met with elected officials from the greater Quebec City region to discuss the impacts of the redesign of the third link project.

In this “good meeting with an open heart”, as Minister Bernard Drainville described it, the elected officials notably agreed that communication in this file had been faulty.

“We have clearly said that certain communication methods must be reviewed,” declared MNA Kariane Bourassa. “We’re a family, I’m not going to leave the family because we had a family fight,” she added.

“It was a bit short in discussion time,” also agreed Minister Jonatan Julien. The ministers knew last Monday that the project was going to be reviewed; the news circulated in the media the next afternoon.

Playing it safe, Minister Drainville stated that “Premier [n’avait] not promise compensation to anyone.

“It’s not how it works,” he began. Now, I in Lévis, I have projects”, he continued, recalling the need for “a second ice cream at the Lévis arena”, the work at the Hôtel-Dieu de Lévis, the hall cegep entertainment center and the expansion of two schools. “I need a new school,” he also said. “There are a lot of projects in Lévis that need to be done and I will work very hard between now and 2026 to deliver them. »
