“Stunning, revolting, disturbing. At a time when corruption remains one of the scourges of our economic life! This government will therefore be that of all the shame and indignities“, reacted this Wednesday the deputy (LFI) for Seine-Saint-Denis Alexis Corbière on the social network PS) from Landes, Boris Vallaud, regrets for his part a “incomprehensible decision“.
The government has not renewed the approval of the anti-corruption association created in 2002, currently involved in more than 160 procedures. “We are well aware that our actions against corruption deeply annoy the government“, reacted the association. The approval allowing it to intervene in cases of fight against corruption and attacks on probity has not been renewed, the precedent having been withdrawn by the administrative justice system.
The Prime Minister, Elisabeth Borne, stepped aside last Saturday from any action concerning Anticor, in favor of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Catherine Colonna. The Quai d’Orsay had until Tuesday, December 26, 11:59 p.m. to renew or not the approval requested by the association. However, nothing appears in the Official Journal this Wednesday. The lack of response from the government therefore constitutes an implicit refusal. “I am outraged by this decision which is a blow to the fight against corruption“, reacts Me Brengarth on franceinfo.
“Censorship”
“The government is not fighting corruption, it is fighting Anticor. The message is very clear. Lack of ethics is elevated to a political system“, also adds on X the deputy (LFI) of Seine-Saint-Denis Raquel Garrido, who assures of her “full support” to the association. LFI deputy Ugo Bernalicis calls for “mobilization in the face of the inanity of the government” by signing a petition on Change.org.
The deputy Debout la France from Essonne and candidate for the presidential elections of 2012, 2017 and 2022 Nicolas Dupont-Aignan also denounces a choice “scandalous“. Anticor “investigated the sale of Alstom, Alexis Kohler, Dupond-Moretti, Benalla… Censorship, the common weapon of Macronie“, he adds.
“Zero tolerance”
Finally, François Molins, honorary attorney general at the Court of Cassation, believes that “would be healthier for our democracy” whether it be “an independent administrative authority such as the High Authority for Transparency in Public Life (HATVP) which rules on requests for approval from associations“. François Molins believes that “the fight against corruption must be a priority and requires zero tolerance“.
But according to him, it would be healthier for our democracy if it was not the government which ruled on requests for approval but an independent administrative authority like the HATVP.
