Elders and children, a happy amalgam

I have always felt a natural propensity for elders and children, firstly for their vulnerability in our so-called modern society, secondly because of their wonderful complicity.

Moreover, at a certain time not so long ago, it was said that the elders, as they grew older, “returned to childhood”. In this vein, doesn’t the cycle of life close wonderfully behind the moving scene of an old man having fun with a ball in the company of a child?

In this time of great social upheaval, seniors and children often find themselves isolated, adults being too preoccupied with their careers to deign to give them all the attention they deserve. So, we lock the elders in death rooms and we abandon the children in front of their tablets, at the mercy of solitude.

Faced with such a sad observation, wouldn’t it be very relevant to encourage regular meetings between elders and children in order to offer them opportunities to laugh together, to have fun together, or even to talk together? What treasures they would discover together!
