Suddenly, as in Calogero’s song, Elan supporters are weightless, because since the start of the championship, seconds (of happiness) last for hours! And, despite a departure out of time, that’s what they wanted! Certainly they are not the only ones in the elevator for the Top 8, but that does not prevent them from making the buzz (Aldrin) at each match at the Palais des Sports, while the players take care of the big step, “arms strong” way, towards the top of the basket. But in this space of professional sport, all is not rosy.
The expectation aroused by the Counterpointe Sports Group project (CSG) is great. And the pitfalls that stand in front of the supporters as well as in front of the players and leaders of the Elan, are numerous. Foremost among which is the pandemic and its attendant restrictions. Then there is the athlete and the questioning of a workforce that may have to draw to achieve the goal of the play-offs and more, if affinities. Sané’s arrival will give some oxygen. Finally, capitalization via tokens and real estate projects are at the heart of many conversations. It’s time to see with the supporters, Dominique Grange and Nicolas Pasquet, what they expect in the weeks and months, to come.
