FIFEM spokesperson, Valérie Roberts

The Montreal International Children’s Film Festival (FIFEM) offers programming both online and in theaters, primarily at Cinéma Beaubien. One hundred films from fifteen countries will be presented as part of the 26e edition, which runs from February 25 to March 5. “I think what’s also cool is the possibility of going to see cinema that comes from elsewhere completely, underlined the spokesperson for the event, Valérie Roberts, in an interview with The Press. It’s rare that we have access to that. »

At the movie theater : Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania And Asterix and Obelix: The Middle Kingdom

The adventures of Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) continue in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumaniastill with Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lily), Dr Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer). Joining the time-travelling, universe-traveling Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors) cast. The whole family finds themselves in the quantum universe where they do not intend to laugh… “Despite its few faults, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania remains good entertainment and cleverly kicks off Phase 5 of the MCU. We recognize that Marvel Studios often uses the same recipe, and it is perhaps even more evident in this film. But, what do you want, we like it, this recipe,” says our critic Pascal LeBlanc.

The characters created by René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo go on an adventure, this time to save the Empress of China. Asterix (Guillaume Canet, who also directs) and Obélix (Gilles Lellouche) will encounter Romans and pirates on their way. An original story created from scratch for one of the most expensive productions in French cinema, by Toutatis! Vincent Cassel, Marion Cotillard and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are also part of the cast. “The story holds up quite the (silk) road and keeps us in a known universe, even if it’s a bit linear and obviously predictable. But which Asterix was not? writes our critic Silvia Galipeau.
