A big scare this Monday evening at the fair of Rameaux de Grenoble, installed on the Esplanade. Eight people were stuck on a merry-go-round, victim of a mechanical breakdown, around 10:20 p.m. The two arms of this merry-go-round, which rotates 360 degrees, have become blocked. A basket with 7 people in it was close to the ground at the time of the breakdown, so they were able to descend easily. But the other nacelle, on the other hand, was 60 meters high. The 8 occupants waited half an hour, the time for the operator to activate the engine and the emergency crank, to return to solid ground.
More than fear than harm
The firefighters also went to the site, including members of the GRIMP (reconnaissance and intervention group in dangerous environments). But no one was hurt. Only one person became unwell but was ultimately not taken to hospital.
