Ten days after the death of a soldier leaving a nightclub in Solliès-Pont, in the Var, eight people were indicted, franceinfo learned on Monday September 11 from the Toulon public prosecutor’s office.

One of the suspects was placed in pre-trial detention for “fatal beating by private security agent”, “failure to render aid” And “modification of the inventory of a crime or misdemeanor”. The other seven suspects are placed under judicial supervision.

Attempted cover-up

The victim died after a violent altercation with nightclub security guards on Sunday August 27 in the early morning, following a head trauma with brain hemorrhage.

While spending the evening at a nightclub with five other officers, the soldier was “violently beaten by two security guards at this establishment” following a “verbal altercation on a public highway”, detailed the prosecution. The perpetrators then tried to hide the victim’s body, according to the prosecutor.
