Eight Palestinians were killed by the Israeli army in 24 hours in the West Bank, the Palestinian Ministry of Health reported on Sunday, November 26. Five people were killed, according to the ministry, by Israeli army fire in Jenin, during an incursion of numerous armored vehicles into the city, a stronghold of Palestinian armed groups in the north of the territory occupied for 56 years by Israel. This figure, like those in the balance sheets, should be used with caution, as they are impossible to confirm independently.

Jenin was already the scene at the beginning of November of the deadliest Israeli raid in the West Bank in almost 20 years (14 dead) according to the UN. Furthermore, a 25-year-old doctor was killed on Saturday morning in front of his home in Qabatiya, near Jenin. Another Palestinian was killed in el-Bireh, near Ramallah, the headquarters of the Palestinian Authority. On Saturday evening, another man was killed in an Israeli army raid on a village south of Nablus, according to the ministry.

For its part, the Israeli army assured that it had carried out “counterterrorism activities in the Jenin refugee camp” during the night from Saturday to Sunday. She added that she had arrested a man whom she said was the perpetrator of an attack that killed two Israelis in August. According to the spokesperson for the Israeli army, 21 wanted people were arrested as part of nighttime operations in the refugee camp, reports the Israeli daily Haaretz. A total of 29 Palestinians were arrested on Saturday by the Israeli army throughout the West Bank, the daily said.
