Eight more deaths attributed to COVID-19 in Quebec

Hospitalizations related to COVID-19 have remained relatively stable in the last few hours, according to the most recent government report.

As of Wednesday, 1,476 patients with the disease were in Quebec hospitals, including 457 due to COVID-19. That’s down ten from the day before.

In intensive care, the authorities reported an increase of three people, for a total of 26. Among them, 16 are being treated specifically for the disease.

The report also reports eight new deaths linked to the disease, only one of which occurred in the last 24 hours. Another occurred two to seven days ago and six more than seven days ago.

Since the start of the pandemic, 17,962 Quebecers have lost their lives as a result of the disease.

The authorities have also recorded 582 new cases, a figure to be taken with a grain of salt since access to screening centers is restricted. We must add at least 45 positive cases detected on Tuesday by rapid tests.

On the vaccination side, 2,310 doses were administered on Tuesday.
