An Israeli strike destroyed an annex of the Iranian embassy in Syria on Monday April 1, according to Iranian state media. In the first videos, we see a thick cloud of black smoke and an impressive pile of debris. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (OSDH), based in the United Kingdom, but with an important network of sources in Syria, reported eight deaths in this raid.

According to an AFP correspondent in Damascus, the building was razed by the strike. “Hossein Akbari, ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Damascus, and his family were not injured in the Israeli attack”adds the Iranian Nour news agency. Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad condemned the“heinous terrorist attack” Israeli.

Iranian Foreign Minister called “the international community” to bring “a serious answer” to these strikes which killed at least five members of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps, including a commander. During a call with his Syrian counterpart, the head of Iranian diplomacy, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, considered the attack “as a violation of all international obligations and conventions”.
