The book The gravediggers by journalist Victor Castanet who denounces the deplorable reception conditions in the group’s nursing homes ORPEA (world leader in nursing homes and clinics) triggered a double investigation – administrative and financial – launched by the government.

Following these revelations, the leaders of some 2,000 private retirement homes asked for an intensification of unannounced administrative checks, and a new quality certification procedure, Monday January 31, 2022.

Retirement homes can currently be controlled by multiple stakeholders such as departmental councils, regional health agencies, veterinary services (for hygiene in the kitchen), fire safety commissions, labor inspection and regional chambers of accounts .

It is in this context that a start-up like PapyHappy operates, by visiting mystery shoppers, to ensure a high level of service and the well-being of seniors.

A circular dated January 4, 2022 records the launch of an emergency recruitment campaign in the healthcare sectors of old age and disability and for “arouse vocations”a national communication campaign is planned for February 15, 2022.
