“I hope that at the Paris Olympic Games there will be no Russian athletes”declared Tuesday, September 19, MEP and former EELV candidate in the presidential election Yannick Jadot, during a round table on the occasion of “Demain le Sport”, an event organized at the Maison de la radio et de la music by franceinfo, in partnership with France Télévisions and L’Equipe.

“We cannot have Russia committing crimes against humanity in Ukraine and be blind to what is happening”, according to the former presidential candidate. Yannick Jadot pleaded for the Paris Olympic Games “be a story of how to live together, of ecology, of democracy, of social rights and of human rights”.

“When Coca-Cola is a sponsor, that says something”he also denounced. “The question of sports sponsorship should now be included in the specifications” for the organization of the Olympic Games. “There can be sponsorship with more ethical companies than Coca-Cola. In the new Olympic Games, there must be an ethical imperative which must also concern sponsors.”
