Thursday June 22, Pap Ndiaye, Minister of National Education and Youth, was the guest of “4 Truths” on France 2. He returned to the inter-ministerial plan put in place at the start of the school year to fight against school bullying, evoking “the possibility for harassing pupils in primary school to be moved, rather than the harassed pupils”. A change of establishment which will not be systematic, but will be “in the event of difficulties, when a student will pose safety and health problems for other students”he added.
The pHARe system extended “to all high schools”
The Minister also indicated that the pHARe scheme, a program to combat bullying at school, will be extended “to all high schools”. “The school can do a lot, but it can’t do everything”continued Pap Ndiaye, saying that“we need to mobilize parents on the subject” school bullying.
The Minister then announced that the time devoted to moral and civic education will be doubled. “Today, on average, it’s half an hour a week. It will be one hour per week from the start of the 2024 school year.he specified. The Minister also announced a “redesign of programs” devoted to this teaching.
