Pupils from Mantes-la-Jolie had the chance to spend ten days in Greenland. An exceptional destination, especially for a school trip. On the program, breathtaking landscapes, sports activities, but also an awareness of the harmful impact of humans on nature.

A few weeks ago, students from Mantes-la-Jolie (Yvelines) went on a ten-day school trip to Greenland. 3,500 km from home, they chained kayaking, camping and hiking. Main goal: see directly the consequences of climate change. A director filmed this discovery.

The students were impressed by the way of life of the local population. “They have rather simple things and we always want more than we have”reports Kamelia Soufanstudent. “The showers, we spent four days without showering. Here, even two days for some is not feasible”valued Djieri Sambustudent. The project was born in the head of a teacher. “We absolutely have to get them out of school. School is good, but actually sitting all day isn’t everything.”believes Yvan DromardVal Fourré secondary school technology teacher. The youngsters hope to present their documentary at the United Nations in November.
