(Edmonton) The Edmonton Oilers have granted forward Derek Ryan a two-year, $1.8 million contract extension.
The 36-year-old Ryan had 13 goals and seven assists in 80 games last season, his second with the Oilers.
He also provided a goal and two assists in 11 playoff games. The Oilers were eliminated in the second round.
Ryan has 76 goals and 115 assists in 500 career NHL games with the Carolina Hurricanes, Calgary Flames and Oilers.
