Tiga, pioneer of the scene rave Montrealer, and the Scotsman Hudson Mohawke, co-founder of the LuckyMe collective, have multiplied collaborations in recent years before offering Ecstasy, the first album from their duo called Love Minus Zero. If Mohawke’s visionary hip-hop flavor is muted (he preserves it for TNGHT, his other project with another Montrealer, Lunice), Tiga’s unwavering love for synthwave and electro floods the 16 songs of this album which knows no downtime. The brief refrain of Night Is Not, propelled by the frenetic electro impulse, remains engraved in our head; ditto for the house refrain Feel The Rush, featuring the vocals of rapper Channel Tres. Epic electro-house Love Minus Zero will wreak havoc on these dance floors where the two composers know every nook and cranny. We will fall further for the trance scents of Silence of Love (with the voice of Jesse Boykins III) and Winter Crush and finally for the atmosphere, darkened by synths that seem borrowed from Depeche Mode, from In Order 2.
