Monday March 21, 12/13 presents the Écocirque Bouglione which has replaced its animals with holograms, due to animal welfare.

In Lyon (Rhône), the Ecocirque Bouglione has replaced its animals with holograms, and that appeals to the public. “I prefer with holograms than with animals”says a man. “We find that the place of animals is in nature, it is not in circuses”, adds a spectator. Thanks to the holograms, the animals are always on stage.

A tiger tamer for many years, André-Joseph Bouglione has changed his vision of his profession. He has thus decided to free himself from his animals, before the legal obligation which will ban animals in circuses in 2026. “These animals were exploited, but above all, they were in captivity (…) all their lives, from birth to death”, says André-Joseph Bouglione, founder and director of the Écocirque. With a reduced carbon footprint, the Ecocirque is in a global ecological approach.
