Eclipse of April 8, 2024 | The duty

An eclipse is a historical event through which children can learn and understand many things.

I am part of a school that has an incredible daycare service and has planned multiple activities for this special day.

I find that, through its letter to parents, the Marguerite-Bourgeoys School Service Center (CSSMB) once again absolves itself of all responsibility. He runs away from problems instead of finding solutions.

He talks about an educational mission, but he hasn’t even taken the initiative to order glasses for everyone, even though it’s been a known event for at least a year. And worse, it puts the educational mission of this moment in the hands of parents (there are many who cannot explain this phenomenon in detail).

NASA, the ASTROLab of Mont-Mégantic National Park, Space for Life: all on their site explain how to make a box that allows you to observe the eclipse with your back to the sun. This box can be made in class and provides other scientific concepts.

I am angry at how the CSSMB takes no responsibility. Instead of encouraging schools, it restricts them in their educational mission.

I myself experienced an eclipse at school when I was young, and I still remember that memorable moment.
