The famous brand of bottled water crystalline announced a price increase for its six-bottle pack, the best-selling product in France. In nearly 20 years, the brand has never raised its prices.
The water bottle crystalline is the best-selling product in supermarket, and it is also the cheapest bottle. But the brand will increase its prices by 10%. Cristaline is also caught up by inflation. “I didn’t know it, but I know everything is increasing. So we are simply resigned”testifies a Frenchwoman.
The price of this low-cost water had not changed for nearly 20 years. This increase is partly due to that of plastic, essential to manufacture the bottles. In effect, the price of this material soars, with an increase of 39% last fall. Another reason: with the rise in fuel prices, transporting the goods inevitably costs more for the company. It will therefore pass on its costs to the distributors. According to Oliver Dauversa specialist in mass distribution, consumers could soon see the price rise on their receipts.
