Easy Tottenham and falling West Ham … What not to miss during Boxing Day

Without being able to attend all the Premier League matches, three of them having been postponed due to Covid-19, the English spectators still enjoyed themselves during this Boxing Day. Goals on all the lawns, sometimes suspense and everywhere a festive atmosphere, the teams engaged this Sunday, December 26 provided the spectacle.

The first of these are Manchester City and Leicester. With nine goals and a match in the purest British tradition, the leader regaled his fans at the Etihad (6-3). In Norfolk, at Carrow Road, Arsenal have made short work of the red lantern, Norwich. Deprived of the championship for several days, the Tottenham Spurs resumed their forward march at home against Crystal Palace (3-0). West Ham players fell at home in London against Southampton.

Tottenham – Crystal Palace: Antonio Conte still unbeaten in the Premier League

Handicapped by the Covid for several, Tottenham intends to double down. And the North London club showed it this Sunday at home. With a great Lucas Moura, author of a goal and two assists during the quiet success of Spurs against Crystal Palace (3-0), Antonio Conte’s men resume their march forward.

The Italian coach, who arrived on the bench on November 2, is still unbeaten in six Premier League games (four wins and two draws).

West Ham – Southampton: the Hammers can no longer do it

Since their great success against Chelsea (3-2) on December 4, David Moyes’ players have no longer managed to score three points in the Premier League. Held in check at Burnley (0-0) and beaten by Arsenal (2-0), the Hammers dropped points against an opponent within reach on Sunday. Issa Diop’s teammates chased the whole game before giving in on a final goal from Jan Bednarek 20 minutes from the end of the match (2-3).

Now sixth with a head start over Manchester United, which is two games late, the Londoners will have to fight to get into European places.
