(Quebec) A 24-year-old young woman lost her life in a head-on collision with a cube truck that occurred in the middle of the night, Thursday, in Estrie.
According to initial information from the Sûreté du Québec, the Granbyenne was traveling in her car on Route 137 in Sainte-Cécile-de-Milton around 3 a.m., on the night of Wednesday to Thursday.
For a reason that remains to be determined, the driver would have deviated from her lane and found herself face to face with the cube truck, which was coming from the opposite direction.
Following the impact, the young woman found herself trapped in her vehicle and had to be extricated from her unfortunate position by the police. She was later transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
His death was confirmed at the hospital later that day.
As for the driver of the cube truck, he was also hospitalized, but to treat minor injuries.
A collision investigator attended the scene to analyze the scene, so Highway 137 was closed for several hours Thursday. The investigation continues to understand why the young woman deviated from her path.
