(Sherbrooke) An elderly motorcyclist in his forties lost his life in a hospital after being involved in a swerve in the middle of the evening, Monday, in Estrie.
The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) explained that the man who was alone on his motorcycle lost control of it around 9:10 p.m. while driving south on Route 143 in Val-Joli, about fifteen kilometers north of Sherbrooke.
The victim was found by passers-by who alerted the emergency services. She was in critical condition when she arrived at the hospital and her death occurred a short time later.
The Sûreté du Québec will conduct an investigation to determine the exact cause of the loss of control of the motorcycle. One of the hypotheses considered was speeding.
