According to preliminary information communicated to the BEI, the SQ police officers received a call, around 8:25 p.m., about this individual who was in possession of a handgun.
“The police would have located the man, who would have refused to obey orders and who would have rushed in their direction”.
They “would have fired at least one shot, and the man would have been hit in the lower body”, specifies the BEI press release.
Five BEI investigators were tasked with investigating the circumstances of the event. The Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) was also called in as a support police service.
The BEI asks anyone who witnessed this event to contact them via their website.
