(Sherbrooke) A 26-year-old man is wanted by police authorities for manslaughter in connection with the death of a 30-year-old man that occurred Thursday evening in Sherbrooke, in the Eastern Townships.
The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) also identified the victim on Saturday as Charles Lafontaine. It was not known if the latter was known to the police.
The SQ also clarified that other charges could possibly be brought against Mohammed Amine Oumina.
On Thursday around 10:45 p.m., police officers from the Sherbrooke Police Service (SPS) were called to the scene of an apartment building on René-Lévesque Boulevard for a person who had been shot. When they arrived, they found a seriously injured man in one of the units.
He was taken to hospital where he was unfortunately pronounced dead.
In a press release, the SQ asks anyone who has seen the suspect or has information about him to contact 9-1-1.
Mohammed Amine Oumina is 1.87m tall and weighs 104kg. He has brown hair and eyes as well as several tattoos on his left forearm.
