Eastern Townships | A road trip kills a man and injures his passenger

(Bury) A road trip that occurred Wednesday in Bury, in the Eastern Townships, cost the life of a young 24-year-old driver. His passenger, in her 60s, was also seriously injured, but she is said to be out of danger.




The accident happened around 4:30 p.m. on Route 214, very close to the intersection with Route 108.

According to initial information from the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), the man who was driving a cube truck was traveling westbound. He would have lost control of the vehicle in a curve and would have ended his journey in a ditch, said SQ spokesperson Camille Savoie.

The two occupants were transported by ambulance to a hospital where the driver succumbed to his injuries. According to the SQ, there is no fear for the life of the woman.

An investigator was dispatched to the scene to determine the causes and circumstances surrounding the accident.
