(Roxton Pond) A motorcyclist is fighting for his life after being hit by a car on Wednesday afternoon in Roxton Pond, in the Eastern Townships.
The emergency services were called to intervene, around 2:45 p.m., at the intersection of Route 139 and 3e rank.
“According to the first information gathered, the driver of the vehicle would have struck a motorcyclist who was traveling on Route 139 to the south, therefore in the direction of Roxton Pond. While entering Route 139, the driver struck the motorcyclist, starting on 3e West row,” explained Sergeant Catherine Bernard, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
The 74-year-old motorcyclist was transported to a hospital center, where there were still fears for his life in the early evening.
As for the driver, in her twenties, she was not injured.
An SQ investigation is underway.
“A police officer trained in collision investigation went to the scene to clarify the causes and circumstances of this event,” said Sergeant Catherine Bernard.
